Description: Knives that have mixed the warmth of natural wood and stag have always been a favorite of mine and this knife does it to perfection. Fine silver inlay adds an heirloom quality to this exceptional Jay Hendrickson hunter.
Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson began by forging the 52100 carbon steel blade to shape. 52100 is considered by many knife makers and knife users to be among the best (if not the best) steels currently used in the knife industry. An appleseed grind is a hallmark of Jay's hand forged blades. A differential heat treatment line travels along the blade, showing the transition between the soft, supportive spine and the keen, hard edge steel.
The ash handle has been inlaid with fine silver vines. Copper pins complete the spirals and add and excellent accent. A stag front bolster is set sideways, with the bark facing toward the front of the knife. The handle is nicely contoured for a comfortable, secure grip. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
The knife is accompanied by a hand sewn leather sheath with elephant leather overlay.
Exceptional work throughout from a true master!
