Description: Jan Wahl is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the Southern African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail. This boot dagger was made in 2018 and was kept in a private collection. It is in new condition and by all appearances, Wahl could have made it yesterday.
This Boot Dagger is hand ground damascus forged from carbon steels by Mastersmith Kevin Harvey. The damascus will provide a keen, long lasting edge.
The oval guard is brass that has been fileworked on the sides and stippled on the front. A central column of African black wood meets perfectly with the guard and pommel. The slender handle design makes this dagger particularly good for concealed carry. The brass pommel is hand fluted and stippled to match the guard. This elegant boot dagger is reminiscent of the Scottish Sgain Dubh.
To keep the knife close at hand a vegetable tanned leather custom sheath is included. The hand tooled sheath is designed to provide a low profile for concealed carry.
