Description: This exceptional chef's knife is the work of Argentinian knifemaker Pablo Untroib. Pablo lives in Buenos Aires. He specializes in knives for professional and amateur cooks as well as making outdoor knives.
Chef's knives are the general purpose knife in the kitchen. From slicing tomatoes to chopping onions, this knife will get the task done perfectly. The 7-1/2" blade is a perfect size for most any task. It is a perfect size for preparing full meals for your family or guests. This chef's knife is sure to be a kitchen favorite.
This chef's knife was inspired by the high performance culinary knives of Japan. The blade shape and the choice of steel are both inspired by the Japanese gyuto.
The blade is formed from VG10 san mai. A central core of VG10 stainless steel is surrounded by layers of softer stainless. This allows the central core to be harder, while being protected by the softer, resilient sides. The blade features a shinogi grind to assist food release. A tumbled finish completes the blade. The blade has a perfect arc for a rocking chop.
The Japanese-inspired handle is made from brown/black paper Micarta. A frame and formed from white G-10. The handle is nicely rounded, for a secure, comfortable grip.
The knife is accompanied by a veg tanned leather sheath custom built and tooled by Pancho Elizalde.
This is an exceptionally light, very well balanced chef's knife that can be used for hours without fatigue. It is a perfect choice for both home and commercial chefs.
