Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 19 years old (as of the spring of 2023) is a Washington native. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 7-1/2 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. This nimble knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is hand forged 1080 carbon steel and features a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. 1080 carbon steel is tough, chip resistant, and maintains a razor sharp edge for a long time. The blade is ground beautifully thin for high performance cuts. The spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort.
The bolster is fully integral to the blade. This technique has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith. The bolster is carved to encourage a comfortable pinch grip.
The handle is presentation grade curly koa, sculpted provide a comfortable grip. Curly koa (Acacia koa) is only found on the Hawaiian islands and is one of the most desired exotic woods used in knifemaking. The handle is lightweight and very nimble allowing the knife to remain comfortable even after hours of exteneded use. This is a knife you won't want to put down!
Excellent work throughout!
