An easy way to maintain a great edge

I bought this product to help keep a good edge on a Shun Santoku. But I found that all my older knives, of variable quality, responded very well. I had a Zanger-Icel chef's knife that after professional sharpening now can be returned to an outstanding edge with just six passes on the fine rods. Amazing. My Santoku is the same. Great piece of equipment.
